TechPodCasts.com, the top technical audio podcast resource worldwide, announced today a first of its kind sponsorship deal with GotoMeeting.com, a Citrix Online product
Spokesperson Todd Cochrane says, what is significant is that this is the very first multi-podcast sponsorship deal. This agreement is a large win for our members and the techpodcasts.com network. A significant amount of work lead to getting to this day, with the network barely being 6 months old it is evident that when like minded podcasters come together and build a branded network, along with developing a legal marketable framework, with the necessary statistics reporting, then by presenting a well laid out marketing plan, we were able to sign this sponsorship deal. This solidifies our ideals that “podcasters do the work, and indeed podcasters get paid”.
TechPodcasts.com is uniquely positioned to deliver the GoToMeeting.com message. More impressive in June the network reached 135,000 unique listeners, and saw record traffic of over 750,000 unique downloads among the 20 reporting affiliates.
This sponsorship is the perfect marketing fit, we have the technical audience, and we will be able to directly reach decision makers in the technical community. We look forward to a successful campaign and a long term relationship with GotoMeeting.com.

If you use your cellphone a lot I’ve got a great tip for you
/in Heard on the RadioIf you use your cellphone a lot I’ve got a great tip for you. Go out and buy an “ear bud” headset. These are different from traditional headsets as they have no visible microphone or bulky loop that fits over your head. The whole thing is a little bud that comfortably goes right in your ear and that’s it. It’s very cool and works extremely well. I’ve been using it on my cellphone now for about a year and never leave home without it. Using an ear bud headset while you’re in the car completely alters the entire cellphone experience. Because you don’t have to hold the cellphone with your hands or bend your neck, driving is much safer and you can talk for long periods without ever getting tired. I used to hate getting caught in traffic but now I’m always on the phone when I’m on the road. It feels great to be so productive and you can too.
Use that online TV Guide
/in Heard on the RadioThe next time you want to know what’s on TV, use your Road Runner High Speed Online and pull up an online program guide, like at tvguide.com or Yahoo. In just a few clicks you can find any program on any channel over the next two weeks. It’s the best way to find what’s on TV. Try it!
Excel Instead of a Calculator
/in Heard on the RadioWhen you are at your desk and you need to do a quick math calculation, I’ll bet you whip out your handy dandy desk calculator, right? Have you ever stopped to think of what a huge waste of money and resources that is? Why use a puny 5 function calculator when you’ve got a virtual supercomputer sitting on your desk? Next time use a spreadsheet instead! Why? For one, you can setup quick formulas that make recalculating many times faster than re-doing the whole thing on a calculator. Secondly, after you’ve done your spreadsheet calculations, you can easily email the results along with explanations to whoever else needs to see your work. Try that with a calculator. So get rid of all the calculators on your desk next time reach for a spreadsheet. It takes effort to break the old habit but I guarantee you’ll be glad you did.
Doesn’t it seem like our lives are more hectic than ever? I thought technology was supposed to make life easier…
/in Heard on the RadioDoesn’t it seem like our lives are more hectic than ever? I thought technology was supposed to make life easier but what I found is that I worked longer, harder, and more stressful hours than ever before. Why is this? Well my answer is that all this technology has made it too easy for us to take on too much work without having a clear idea on how much time it will take to get the job done and then not having a good handle on how much available time we really have to complete those tasks. The result is overwork and overstress. While I can’t promise you a solution to everything, I can tell you that I’ve been using Microsoft Project for the past 3 years to manage my personal workload and the results have been incredible. Nowadays, I get my jobs done on time, I don’t work weekends, and I still have time to spend with my family. If you think if your life as one giant Project and use Microsoft Project to manage it, you have a good chance of getting your life back.
Got Beach Phone?
/in Heard on the RadioWhen you go to the beach, do you wear your work clothes? Of course not. But yet, the cellphone you take to work is the same one you take to the beach, right? Well, if you’ve use tmobile, you don’t have to and that’s because all the information on a tmobile phone like your phone lists and phone number are not really stored in the phone, but rather on a little chip that you plugged in your phone when you first got it. If you move that chip to another phone, all your information goes with it. I’ve been using tmobile for years now, and on the weekends, I move my chip to an older phone that I can throw into a beach bag. During the week, I’ve got the chip in shiny new business phone. Now you can wear the right tmobile phone for the right occasion. Try it!
How much airtime have YOU used?
/in Heard on the RadioWe all love our cell phones but we hate getting those extra charges for going over our monthly minutes. Well as you might guess, your buddy Peter has a great tip for you. If you’re a tmobile subscriber, all you do is dial #646#, then hit the dial button. In a few seconds you’ll get back a message that tells you how many minutes you’ve used. What’s cool is you get both the whenever minutes as well as the tmobile to tmobile minutes. Now you never have to wonder if you’re going over your monthly limit. Just dial #646# and you’ll know exactly where you stand. Keep up with this and you’ll never see those extra charges again.
Email SMS to a Phone
/in Heard on the RadioPicture this: you’re at the office and you need to send a quick message to a colleague who is on the road with their tmobile wireless phone. Instead of making a phone call the might land in their voicemail or interrupt them at a meeting, send them an email message instead. So for example if their phone number is 8085551212, then you just send an email to 8085551212@tmomail.net. If they are a tmobile subscriber, that message will go to their phone in seconds. I use this feature all the time and it’s the perfect when you want to get a quick, short message out. Try it!
Don’t reply with “remove” in the subject line
/in Heard on the RadioDo you get unsolicited email (also known as SPAM) that says “If you would like to be removed from our list, please reply with the word REMOVE in the subject line”. Well you really want to be careful about replying because you may be creating even more spam for yourself. You see, most spammers use that technique to find out if you really exist. Once they know that, they sell your email address to other spammers. So when I get emails like that I generally ignore them. Now if I get repeated emails from the same source and I feel are reputable enough to respect my wishes, then I will send one of those remove requests. I’ve noticed that in almost every occasion when I don’t reply, I don’t get any repeat emails from unethical spammers. Follow this simple tip and you’ll keep spam in your musubi instead of your email inbox.

Use the Google SpellChecker
/in Heard on the RadioWhen you need to spell a word, don’t reach for the dictionary. Just go to Google and type in the word you want. If it’s not spelled right, Google will come back with “Did you Mean” followed by the proper spelling. This is the fastest, easiest way outside your word processor to get your computer to spell for you.
